Alice’s Adventures Above Ground

I’m just a writer. That’s my epitaph: Writer. The New York Times didn’t give me a weekly column, so I post here instead. This is the place where I work stuff out. Sometimes it’s where I rant a little. I often reminisce and ponder and observe and wonder and laugh. I do a lot of laughing. If you choose to read my work, I hope you’ll take it in the spirit in which it is meant. I don’t write to create chaos. I write to find peace. Please leave me your remarks. Or don’t.

Smiles,

I enjoy your essays, rants or no.

I enjoy your, often thought provoking, writing. Your commentary is
“right on the mark” as far as I am concerned.

I enjoy your writing very much and will be sad when you go back to work and don’t have as much time for it.

I love your writing. It makes me think and ponder which is a great thing!

Everyone has a right to express their thoughts and to be heard, to squeal their joy or grumble a rant now and then. I know that sometimes, I’ve been tempted to drag my own soapbox into the comments section of other people’s blogs, and sometimes that’s even welcomed or expected. But having said that, I know I use my blog as a salon – a place for pleasant conversation. I love lively conversation, too. I even welcome and enjoy different viewpoints. But no one gets to come into my salon and be nasty – not to me, not to those who visit there. :) It SHOULD be a place of peace, if that’s what we want it to be. Lord knows, there are enough places for chaos, contention, and conflict.

I love your writing, and your spirit, and your passion, Alice. I’ll be back!
